Recruit New Members
Helpful tips to recruit new members.
1. Hand out flyers.
Hand out colorful flyers at your school. Make your own, or download the Fashion Club Recruiting Flyers and Fact Sheet from our Fun Printables page.
2. Talk to people in person about your club.
Let people know how excited and passionate you are about your club. Introduce yourself to someone you’ve never met before. The more people you talk to, the more the word about your club will spread.
3. Set up a table during your school’s Club Rush.
Decorate a table with a colorful banner to represent your club. Offer free stuff (we can help you with this), then once you grab people’s attention, invite them to learn more about your club and the fun things you plan to do with it.
4. Hang up posters around campus.
Design your own eye-catching posters, or use the Fashion Club recruiting poster template from our Fun Printables page as a way to attract new members.
5. Reach out to different clubs.
Invite someone from the art club who may be interested in painting different textiles or a student from the drama club who helps make costumes. Other people’s talents can be beneficial to your club because you can learn new things from them and it keeps your meetings interesting.
6. Put an ad in your school newspaper.
Place a creative ad in the school paper with news about your club, including contact information. This way, everyone will know about your Fashion Club and what activities you have planned.
7. Make an announcement during your school’s morning news.
Promote your club with an announcement during the morning news. Catch the attention of fashion-loving students with a catchy opener like “Let the Fashion Begin” or “Runway Dreams Start Here” and promote club activities like “Fashion Club is making t-shirts at their meeting this week!” You can even have your club’s advisor make an announcement to all of their classes and members can do the same.
8. Make a Facebook or Instagram page for your club.
Post pictures and status updates about all the exciting things your club is doing and invite as many people as you can. Attract potential members with pictures of your club’s activities. You can also invite students to the events you are planning. Don’t forget to invite your own Facebook and Instagram friends and have your members do the same.
9. Tweet about your club.
Tweet that your club is looking for new members and have all of your friends retweet the message to get the word out.
10. Invite a friend day.
Have each of your club members invite a friend to the next meeting. Your club members will be able to meet new people and make friends and you will be able to find more people who are interested in your club.
11. Ask for help.
Get different ideas and opinions from your club members on how you can recruit new members. Someone may come up with a great idea that you never thought of.
